Mary Lou Roy, formerly Muckenhoupt, has extensive experience in both photojournalism and portrait photography. After graduating with a degree in photography from Salem State University, she worked as a staff photographer for The Salem News and the Gloucester Daily Times. During her eight years in the news industry, Mary shot breaking news, high school, college and youth sporting events, and sought out and snapped candid and artistic feature photos that ran often on the front page. She received praise from readers for her photos of children and her ability to convey natural and authentic moments. In 2009, Mary was named Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc.'s Photographer of the Year.
Currently, Mary specializes in portraiture and wedding photography. She shoots with a photojournalistic eye and has a dedication to capturing a moment and turning it into a memory that lasts a lifetime. Mary lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts with her husband and son. She is available for weddings, portraits, corporate events and Christmas card photo sessions. Please contact her directly for pricing and availability. She looks forward to hearing from you.
